Privacy policy
Two different relationships
For an institute's own account details we decide how the data is used.
For the records an institute enters about its students and staff, the institute decides and we only process on its instructions. If you are a student or a parent, the institute is the first place to ask about your data.
What is collected
From institutes: contact and billing details, and the usage needed to apply plan limits.
From institute records: whatever the institute enters - names, contact details, attendance, fees, marks, submitted work and uploaded documents.
Automatically: sign-in times, IP addresses and device information, kept for security and to investigate misuse.
How it is used
To run the service, to apply the institute's plan, to send the messages the institute configures, and to keep accounts secure.
Institute and student data is not sold, and is not used to train anything or to advertise to anyone.
Who can see it
Within an institute, access follows the roles and permissions the institute sets. Faculty see the batches assigned to them.
Our staff access an institute's data only to provide support. Entering a customer account is recorded in an audit log, with who did it and why.
Payment details are handled by the payment provider; card numbers never reach our systems.
Keeping it safe
Each institute has its own database. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed and cannot be read back by anyone, including us.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects an institute's data we notify them without undue delay.
How long it is kept
While the subscription is active, and for a limited period afterwards so an institute that returns does not lose its records. It is then permanently deleted.
Audit and billing records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, for corrections, or for deletion.
Students and parents should ask their institute, which controls those records. Institutes can ask us directly, and we will help with any request they receive.
